I love that California has ballot boxes all over the place and that it makes it so much easier for everyone to vote. I know everyone is posting "I voted" stickers today. I recycled mine. But I got confirmation that my ballot has been accepted. So easy!

Evening group hike in Palos Verdes and weird sighting today while running errands.

We wrapped up our Mount Laguna camping trip with waving to my friend’s fiancé on a live webcam, successfully making a Dutch baby at high elevation, recreating Japanese strawberry sandwiches, and stopping at a Texas style barbecue on the way home. And I didn’t hit as much traffic as I expected! Yay!

Weekend at Mt. Laguna. Hiking, reading, hanging out, Dutch oven experiments. Rustic apple pie! Remembered the butter…. but forgot the sugar, so had to put some on top. Doh!! Still turned out pretty good. Plan to leave tomorrow to beat (hopefully) holiday traffic.

We snagged a great campsite in the mountains east of San Diego, surrounded by wildflowers. My hybrid’s first road trip! (Let’s hope the car issues are behind me. It’s been car hell until this point.)

Took a few people from my audio class tonight to tour a soon to be Dolby Atmos studio in Laguna Hills. When finished, Just 4 Feet will be the only Dolby Atmos studio south of Los Angeles, tapping into Orange County is a video game market. The students really enjoyed it!

Last official day of class today, minus a "field trip" to a Dolby audio studio next week. Lucky for me, this semester's class was a good one with a great energy. It will be fun (hopefully!) listening to their final projects.

I learned some new terms this weekend! Unc means old, but only for men and not for women. And Temu curls are when your curls are frizzy or crazy and basically look cheap. Kids are definitely inventive!

Tonight’s jaunt up George F in Rolling Hills Estates. One of the more traveled trails, but there are resident great horned owls! :) No one knows what the F stands for. I love the Matilijia poppies!

No Canvas, so no grading. No internet again, so jot much working. Spectrum is making me do household chores! Argh!

My campus is one of ‘em. I just finished setting up one of my summer classes last night, so hopefully it’s okay. No grading for now! Delayed deadlines for students.
