It’s cold & windy. I was out grabbing dinner & spotted a lone Girl Scout selling cookies. I hated doing that when I was a Girl Scout, so I stopped & got a couple of boxes. There’s not much better than a frozen Thin Mint on a hot summer day. And kudos to the girl (and dad) for braving the bluster!

Went with some friends this morning to tour the Annenberg Wildlife Crossing, which is still under construction. Cool to see, but it’ll probably be better once it’s done and you can get up higher to get a better look.

Second time I’ll be playing in a paid hockey game! Last time was in Canada in a Harlem Globetrotters-style game. This time is in Harbor City this Saturday in a USC game against Boise State University (Can we call it a Galentine’s game??)

Weirdest thing to ever happen to me on the ice and I have pixelated video! The meeting of two face masks last night. (I look like I was annoyed, but was just trying to get the attention of coaches down the ice. Can't tell, but I was laughing.) Thanks to my friend for unhooking our masks!

For the first time ever, I was playing in a hockey scrimmage and another player ran into me and our face shields got stuck together so our heads were basically stuck together and we couldn’t move unless we moved as a unit. Weirdest thing ever! I wish I had a picture.

A 7-1 loss for the USC women’s team last night, but at least we weren’t shut out! (You can “Where’s Waldo” me in the pic.) A lot of beginners on the team, so they’re still learning the game. My highlight is I won all but one of my face-offs. It’s the small wins.

Out with my friend from college to see some pop art today at the Mr. Brainwash exhibit in Beverly Hills. Today was the last day that this museum space is open. If it weren’t for this friend, I’d probably rarely ever get out to see art! Ha ha! Love how this questions what is art?

Be kind to your neighbors on the hockey bench! It’s been warm lately, so washing my hockey gear when I have a few days between playing so it can dry out.

Tonight’s loop through the Forrestal Reserve on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Haven’t been over on this side in a while. The destroyed house on the corner has been removed and the land graded. You can see where the fissure runs under the black house. That roof line is not an architectural feature.

Short hike up George F Canyon tonight. No one knows what the F stands for, so we have dubbed it the “effing canyon.” Surprisingly still quite muddy. Beehives toward the top and nice views of the LA basin.

Still the biggest earthquake I’ve ever been in, thankfully. Everyone else in my family stayed in bed, but I zipped out of my room and under our dining table. Good thing, because all of my VHS tapes fell from the shelf over my bed onto the bed! Also, proof that I can run fast, if needed! Ha ha!
