Yep. Never felt more betrayed by and suspicious of the political establishment in this country as when they allowed one of the best PMs our country has ever had to be forced to resign over absolutely nothing. NOTHING – no scandal, no envelopes full of cash… And that’s when I knew we were fucked.

So what is the UCP calling trans folks today? They've been promoted from "human feces" to "castrated livestock". Great job sounding a bit more progressive, UCP! /s I guess the point is to stick so low to the bottom that you can never get worse.

Not sure the cause, but all the traffic lights in the west end are out along 95 Ave all the way to 170 St, and some other corridors like 98A Ave right up to 178 St. Kind of scary, but to be honest Edmontonians drive better in these situations (employing some degree of caution) than they usually do.

Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance, honoring the memory of trans folk whose lives were lost in acts of anti-trans violence, following Transgender Awareness Week since the 13th. 2 days ago the UCP stripped trans youth of their Canadian Charter rights in order to pass 3 hateful anti-trans bills.

This is Transgender Awareness Week. It's no coincidence that the UCP passed anti-trans legislation on this week, and invoked the notwithstanding clause to strip charter rights and shield the UCP from judicial oversight. Haters need to ridicule and mock, and show utter contempt.

First it was the right to assembly, now to be free from DISCRIMINATION! Danielle Smith calls the existence of trans kids the most urgent threat to the safety of other children. Statistically you are probably not trans, but these fundamental rights belong to all of us. They will come for yours next.

Among the commitments now inscribed in its Back to School Act is a requirement to pay for 3,000 more teaching positions during the next three school years. But what wasn't clear is that the 2025-26 provincial budget had already allocated funding for exactly this purpose.

The next day, hundreds of people on bike and foot blocked the road during the evening rush hour. The community vowed that we would no longer allow the city to treat deaths on our roads as unavoidable accidents, as the reasonable cost of our car-centric transportation system and development pattern.
