â67â is legitimately the dumbest Gen Alpha slang â it is almost always completely devoid of any meaning â, but donât grown adults seem disproportionately angry about it?

There are many fun things about learning Hebrew, like gendered numbers and verbs that bear only passing resemblance to their infinitive, but saying âTel Aviv meets with my approvalâ instead of âI like Tel Avivâ is the current winner.

Speaking of Amazon and Kindles, you can download any ebooks youâve purchased from Amazon, but only until February 27th. After that, youâre at the mercy of Amazonâs ability to revoke your access to the books you thought you owned.

Bought three books at a local bookshop and bought a not-Kindle to replace a broken Kindle. Itâs a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of Amazonâs profit, but itâs something.

I love that a white guy was flying the plane, a white guy was flying the helicopter, and a white guy gutted the FAA last week but somehow the blame is too much diversity.

Not intended as a political position, but I wonder how this government, which only recognizes two sexes, will expect intersex individuals (e.g., people with ambiguous genitalia and people with chromosomal anomalies) to define themselves. The executive order does not address this.

In âThe Dawn of Everything,â the authors write, âA properly historical event has, perhaps, two qualities: it could not have been predicted beforehand, but it only happens once.â This feels like a momentous statement that Iâm not sure I agree with.

I am harboring a pet theory that the music of Taylor Swift contains a lot more melodic leaps than other pop artists (who stick more to scalar motion) and Iâd really like someone to test this for me.

đđđȘ Who can explain the attraction of Anne Leckieâs âAncillary Justiceâ? It seems like 400 pages of missed opportunities to meaningfully explore the themes of gender and what it means to be human, which is raises but fails to deal with. The ideas are good, but their development is mostly mechanical.

Does the Wheel of Time series belong among great works of epic fantasy. Yes, but it is insufferably longer than it needs to be. Robert Jordanâs first 3 installments, and Brandon Sandersonâs last 3 are pure gold.

After learning about his wifeâs affair because her lover sent a text in the wrong thread, Mahler did the early 19th-century version of writing a Taylor Swift breakup song, which was, apparently, writing a symphony and being like âIâma give these mfâers ALL THE SHARPSâ and then dying one movement in.

I read something about âDancing Through Lifeâ from the movie Wickedâs sound track, so I gave it a listen. The main organizing rhythm of the song is disappointingly completely gone. In the original it occurs 6 times (first at 1:16 in the trumpets) serving as a transition between verses and sections.
