My algorithm on other social medias is showing me one thing: hockey. Amazing 🇨🇦 players. Dumb 🇺🇸 players. Fictional players. Then last night I dreamed I was dating a semi-pro player. It might make me a bad Canadian, but I’m so ready to stop thinking about hockey for a minute.

Now that I’ve been gone for 7+ years, I totally hear the “Canadian accent” and I’m not sure there’s much I enjoyed more over the last week than listening to Canadian hockey players in interviews say “about” It warms my heart so much and i really hope that I still have my Canadian accent too!

I have just done all sorts of administrative tasks my adhd brain has been putting off for far too long… And I’m proud of myself And I’m also annoyed because I was hoping they’d just take 5 minutes and instead took like 2 hours.

I’ll give props to Hellebuyck - he played a phenomenal game and deserves that gold medal. Everything else though? 💔

ITS FINALLY HOCKEY TIME

This summer we took our youth group to a luge park and got the opportunity to do a run of wheel luge. It was so fun and now I am so appreciating these luge athletes that much more!

I feel I need to make my opinion known, after receiving texts from two American friends at the exact same time. One said “we LOVE the maple coats!” The other said “I really don’t like Canada’s outfit.” I….. I love it so much. It’s not a normal coat like so many other countries. I love the giant 🍁

It’s Olympic Season! I love that any sport can become a new favourite. Currently getting into Big Air… altho totally bummed that McMorris isn’t able to compete.

As a crafter, I love the idea I’ve been seeing of making hats fashioned after the Norwegian hat worn in the 40s as a symbol of visual protest against their occupiers. I’d make one this afternoon. Except it’s red. And I cannot get over that.

My car is still set to show temps in Celsius & it’s supposed to get super cold here this weekend (overnight.) I picked up a friend this evening and she panicked at the sight of the temp listed in my car. That led to a long convo re: converting between C & F and… I’m not made to do math at 11pm

There’s enough going on in the world and in my life that I really don’t have time to be worried about frozen pipes on top of everything else. Why is it gonna be so cold for the next two weeks? Is it time for spring yet?

A coworker brought in Japanese curry today to share with us all…. And wow. First of all it’s delicious. Second of all, it’s so perfect for a fridgidly cold and snowy day.

February will mark 7 years living in Michigan… … and the past few times I go home, I really hear the Canadian “about” and it makes me so happy whenever I do. People probably wonder why I smirk at random times… but Canadians sound so wonderful.
