Locked and pulled-in, Isaac was in the same position he’d forced Talia into. Stuck waiting for the inevitable blow about to crash against his skull. But he held firm. Isaac wasn’t about to give her the satisfaction of a flinch. ᴛʜᴜᴍᴘ! The Beta’s jaw ached. Bringing his head back-up to face -

“No?” Almost as soon as she trapped him, Isaac swung his head back and immediately headbutted Talia with all of the force and momentum he could muster.

“Hm!?” Isaac huffed at the stranger. Eyes filled with a clear sense of frustration, but the Spartan pulled back and composed himself. “I apologise. I wasn’t…” His sentence trailed off. The anger he had now aimed at himself.

“Can’t handle an ambush, Talia?” Isaac allowed himself the briefest of acknowledging smiles before suddenly shifting his extended arm. He was trying to wrap it around her head, and hopefully lock-in a headlock of sorts with his other hand.

“More worlds than I can count.” He nodded at her, curious. “What about you?”

“No. Why would I do that?” He’s violent sure, but when it’s needed. This just feels ridiculous.

“Thankfully…” Isaac couldn’t help but tilt his head. “…your aura?”

Isaac catches it. Gently placing it on his waistband. “I didn’t expect someone to be so foolish as to grab a clearly explosive object.”

“I don’t know. But it’s potentially lethal from about ten feet away if that counts.”

“A plasma grenade.”

“Protecting what we have left.” Only a few months ago, the Spartan would’ve said revenge or something to that effect, but he’s worked dam hard to rein in that sentiment.
