This is a fun feature of the Targums, which render these infinitives verbatim, even though it's unidiomatic. Onqelos: ביומא דתיכול מניה ממת תמות bəyomā dətekol minneh məmāt təmut "On the day you eat of it, die you will die." It's as odd in JPA as in English, but the Targums are fond of it!
