Safari 26.3 is here... and it is yet another disappointing release. Still no full support for `path()` in CSS. Other browsers have supported this for years. Safari Technology Preview has supported this since 2024. What does this mean? No animations for SVG paths with CSS yet because of 1 browser.

Another Cloudflare outage? I'm receiving cloudflare error "500 Internal Server Error" for many websites right now. Not as bad as outage few weeks ago, but still many websites are down.

With everything going on, zero-trust is the only security model that makes sense. Everything is exploitable 💣 — accept it. All we can do is reduce the damage surface through separation and isolation.

Just noticed that Cloudflare has a new option (new to me, might have been there for a while) to block AI bots. Enabled on all websites. All open source data is available in git repos, no need for bots to crawl pages

Iconify icon sets are updated from multiple sources, but mostly from Git repositories and Figma documents. Unfortunately, updating from Figma documents is no longer possible. Figma has introduced heavy rate limiting for API queries, making it impossible to retrieve document with many SVGs from API

Iconify Unplugin now supports multiple ways of rendering CSS for icons: - Import CSS files - CSS modules - Embed CSS in SVG Importing CSS files is default - it reduces duplication and keeps small class names. CSS modules is one of options for using plugin with Next github.com/iconify/icon...

Update to Iconify Unplugin: added option to render full SVG instead of SVG+CSS. Why would you want that? - To support legacy browsers if fallback icon is not available. - Next.js - it doesn't allow css files outside of App.tsx, which sucks. Result is similar to using Unplugin Icons

Published new major version of Iconify Utils package. This version no longer supports CommonJS. To avoid breaking code, exports weren't changed, so no need to change your code. If you still need CommonJS, you can install previous version by installing "@iconify/utils@cjs".

Currently working on removing CommonJS support from Iconify packages. While I did want to keep support for as long as possible, dependencies dropping support for CommonJS make it harder and harder to do. So it is time to join. Soon I'll release new major versions of all packages, without CommonJS

Published update for Iconify plugins for Figma and Penpot. It is mostly a bug fix. There was a small typo that sometimes prevented custom icon set lists from being stored, so now lists work correctly.

Added almost 20 new open source icon sets to Iconify icon sets repository. There are now 199 icon sets, only 1 short of big milestone.

Haven't posted updates for Iconify for a while. Project is stable, everything is working, so nothing exciting to report. It just works. Icon sets are maintained, more open source icon sets are added when they are discovered. Yes, this is a boring post.

Iconify Icon component for Svelte has been re-written with Svelte 5 runes: iconify.design/docs/icon-co... It is available as "@iconify/svelte@next" (beta version). While Svelte still supports old syntax, to make component future proof it is better to rewrite it, so I did.

Iconify plugin for Tailwind CSS 4 is available. It supports Tailwind CSS 4 "@plugin" directive. Docs: iconify.design/docs/usage/c... Due to how Tailwind 4 works, configuration is very limited. Plugin currently does not work with custom icons. However, older plugin for Tailwind 3 works perfectly.
