Great that @rolldown.rs now has optimized lazy barrel handling. Even though you shouldn't use barrel files in your app, sometimes they are hard to avoid. Time to let your bundler handle a lot of the downsides for you and still have speedy build times.

Use Vitest, but don't use Vite? Vitest 4.1 introduces a new flag to disable Vite module runner entirely, but keep using all the Vitest features you like! Try it out and let us know what you think:

I tried updating grid.layoutit.com, a vue spa, from vite 2 (!) to the vite 8 beta, and everything just worked. It is incredible how stable @vite.dev has remained over the years, and even more with the massive changes they made to move to @rolldown.rs. Impressive care for the ecosystem.

The first release candidate of Rolldown 1.0 is there. No more breaking changes planned (except for experimental features that are marked as such).
