Knowing one of my all-time sci-comm heroes Michaela Strachan is based down the road at Mount Stewart right now has me geeking out! It's a joy to see Winterwatch highlighting the stunning nature found in places I recognise and visit often 😍

It seems surreal to say but today marks 10 years since we started dating. I don't think either of us could have seen where we would be a decade down the line, and I can't wait to see where the next 10 years lead us 💕

Because of flu I'm only just making a start on Amber Isle, but I'm already obsessed. I cannot tell you how cool it is to play a cosy palaeo-themed game that was developed literally opposite the museum I work in. Amazing job @ambertail.games - I'm so excited to keep playing!

A flying visit to London to celebrate the end of Explore: Urban Nature @nhm-london.bsky.social - the new gardens are incredible! Also my first ever trip to the National Portrait Gallery. So incredible to see some of these historic paintings in person 🤩

Leaving work two hours late is not ideal, but I can't complain too much as I spent all afternoon elbow deep in natural history specimens a.k.a. my happy place 🥰

At #Museums2024 I had the pleasure of bumping into someone I studied alongside in Manchester over 10 years ago. We were both studying science degrees, and we both now work in the museum sector. It just gave me this lovely sense of 'I've come full circle, this is where I was meant to be' ☺️

In 2021 my colleagues @adriftlab.bsky.social @thelabandfield.bsky.social removed ~1400 pieces of plastic from the stomachs of 76 seabirds and gave them to me to analyse. It's hard to appreciate the scale of the problem so I made these spirals to show how plastics vary in size, shape, and colour.
