This is an excellent point & my exact experience over the past 10 years. At first, I was amazed that a vendor would say “we want to save you money”. Coming from other vendors, I didn't believe it, but it's true. Learning how to talk to AWS is a different skill, but I advise start with honesty.

It's almost time for re:Invent - excited to meet up with a bunch of people, looking forward to doing the talk and dreading the crazy busy conference week!

Wardley Mapping is something I’ve seen around but haven’t tried myself, so it was nice to see an interactive walkthrough by @davidand393.bsky.social at #oredev. Having worked with more customer-centric strategic processes, it would be interesting to test with even more externally driven factors.
