Ruminating on blown leads
pinned post!
The Miami Heat have gone 11-6 to open the season without Tyler Herro playing a single game, in what was deemed to be an extremely difficult opening slate in October/November

He looks like a guy who tore his achilles. Somehow he looked spry and could shoot in October/November but its completely gone now

Bigger picture, I find it damning Spo only talks to Ware in such harsh terms. It's unbecoming, no matter the tough love strategy

There are much bigger Heat stories right now, but quiet as kept, the biggest Heat killer in the league might actually be Anfernee Simons and now he plays for Boston

2026 Tyler Herro feels like watching 2025 Tua. Somehow an incomprehensibly stupider player than years past

Two 3 point attempts in 3.5 quarters is egregiously horrendous for their best 3 point shooter who is a “3-level” scorer and the “engine” of your offense and all that other shit people say about this dope. Norm isn’t even playing to give him the excuse. Fuck all the way out of my life ASAP.

Probably better to just let him score

Frustrates me to no end that they absolutely hit home runs bringing both of these guys in but it coincided with the decline and end of the Tua/McD era

Ewers has shown more in 6 quarters than Skylar Thompson showed in 3 seasons so there’s that

56-16-15 on 21 shots is so bonkers I feel like you should be thrown into prison. It seems illegal to be that much better than anyone else at basketball

Good for him getting a bag and getting to do radio, but I still don't know who the audience is for a Stugotz solo show is or has been

Tyler rushed back to try and salvage his 65 games played to qualify for supermax but of course had a set back because he’s fragile. But his insertion messed everyone else’s minutes and flow and they’ve never recovered. So yes I blame Tyler. 🤷

Really just feels apparent that Wiggins significantly holds back the Bam/Ware pairing. He's not the kind of wing player that compliments them on offense

Tua Tagovailoa Tanked the Dolphins. Now the Rebuild Begins.
Miami has benched its franchise quarterback. There are no easy fixes for what comes next.

Keep thinking about how out-of-shape Tua looked over the past summer. Remain fascinated by his mechanics just deteriorating. I wonder if he got bad advice at some point

And it's over. Seeing what you have in Ewers makes more sense, but I won't lie, I wanna see if Zach Wilson has a Geno/Darnold post-Jets arc in him (he probably does not)

Jalen Ramsey got a sack and they gave a rushing attempt to Jonnu Smith that went for a touchdown, I love the Miami century of Dolphins humiliation

The Tua legacy going from "underappreciated/pretty good but maybe not good enough" to "this guy is absolute garbage" by age 27. The previous 3 seasons of work at his "peak" are now completely discounted/ignored. Hope he enjoys spending the rest of his life with that stapled to his career

the play action to hill getting 20 on the first play of the game was, in retrospect, for mike mcdaniel what making his first 3 was for russ westbrook
