Love saying this love saying that love saying this and that love saying this or that love saying this that (favourite) It turns up in my poems like a little Easter egg. Recent feedback: “don’t think you need ‘this or that’ there”. Me internally: how dare u.

If you are pondering the order of things a little girl just walked past my house saying with dramatic pacing and a half tune, one—six—two—five—two—ten—TWO (quite loud ending, might be important).

🦇 Did you know brown long-eared bats love perching in their favourite spot and eat moths? They are not so keen on the wings though... This photo, taken by Mike Mullis, is a collection of moth wings left by a brown long-eared bat from underneath its feeding roosts in his barn in East Sussex (cont)

Jersey tiger moth was trying to fly through our (unopenable!) kitchen window earlier. Managed to direct him to freedom through the door. We get a lot of these around the SE London / Kent area but usually see them with only the stripy forewings on show when they are resting on leaves and bus stops.

One thing I know for certainish with poetry is that if I stop trying to write about *the thing* and immerse myself in virtually anything separate to *the thing* then go to write about the separate thing and whoops oh lord I’ll have written about *the thing*.
