I have been asking whether they are monsters, grifters, thieves, clowns, nihilists, vandals, fascists, agents of foreign powers, or nincompoops. It seems the answer is yes.

Many of my friends re-posting favourably the WSJ editorial about Trump launching the dumbest trade war in history. Obviously true kinda. But maybe our old assumptions no longer apply. Maybe he is a rational actor working to undermine democratic allies, enable despots and profit from the chaos.

A small number of Canadians still don't recognize the threat that MAGA represents to Canada. Trump wants to destroy the values that all major Canadian parties embrace. I get that some Canadians embraced Trump at one point, but there is no doubt what MAGA represents anymore. Time to come home.
