Cleomaceae are the sister group to the Brassicaceae. In contrast to the Brassicaceae, they contain true C4 photosynthetic species. This indicates that the genetic capacity to evolve C4 is ancestral to the split of Brassicaceae and Cleomaceae.

Can anyone help: I want to take photos of arabidopsis rosettes everyday as they grow to get growth curves for a lot of ecotypes. Does anyone know of software that can be used to read the label from inside the photo and rename the file with the plant ID and then amend the date to the file name too?
