Last week? Wrote every day on a project, at least one new word. 🙌 This week? Daily yoga. Must wrangle my back before it decides to go completely off script. Might also try to work daily on the project, but it must come second to my body functioning.

I love this. I have strong feelings about the community of readers and writers (I cannot wait for Readercon), and these observations are so timely! Connection is key. Knowing that the authors behind stories are human and community minded is more vital than ever as we enter the AI slop era.

Challenge for this week: write at least 1 word every day on a specific project. 600 words yesterday morning, and an assortment today (forgot to get the count) on 2 projects (including the one for the challenge. This is how I get myself back into the swing of things.

I am loving the Writing Excuses podcast these days. What an entertaining and instructive delight!

It breaks my heart that people think AI is somehow more creative and powerful than they are. Be HUMAN. Writing will make you a better YOU, and part of a better, broader US (collective, not country). Do the hard work of writing and revising. Of putting yourself in someone else’s place. Of CREATING.

It frustrates me to not understand things and I’m trying to foster curiosity instead. It is hard and ugly, but worthwhile.

The update no one asked for. 😂 I’ve been using my phone in greyscale and it hasn’t reduced my screen time, really, but it has reduced whwt I’m spending it on. I’m less likely to get caught in endless reels, more likely to look for text content. I’m calling it a win!

I read one book in September, A Dark and Drowning Tide by Allison Saft, a sapphic, academia, enemies-to-lovers. Does anyone else go in ‘seasons’? I’m moving from reading into work & hibernation mode. Some of this might be due to needing my next dose of Ocrevus, but this is also just how I work.

Have you actually kissed/been kissed where there was anyone’s tongue tracing the seam of anyone’s lips? I don’t think that’s ever happened to me, ever. It’s generally a two mouths open situation.
