I’ve *technically* been to Copenhagen once before - last summer I was there for an hour or so when we had to drop off a passenger with a medical issue. Anyways, I hope I like the town because that’s my entire June schedule.

Just totalling up my logbook for April. Not many flights since I had some vacation days early in the month. Just 4 takes-offs… and 3 landings.

I often tell younger pilots that, while they should enjoy the process, they should also be on the lookout for opportunities and take them at the earliest chance. At least I tell that to some pilots; the ones that are looking for a career path similar to mine.

All-nighter coming up tomorrow. The plan; stay up super late tonight and then sleep in past noon. The execution; I’m still up at 4am, updating my teaching notes so I have some good visual aids for instructing on the flight tomorrow night. #AvGeek

Anyone know of a good iOS weather radar app that displays echo tips? Something with global radar would be preferable (or at least North and South America plus Europe)

I’d been wondering why I hadn’t seen one of our relief pilots in months…. Was I on her “avoid” list? Turns out she was expecting and our medical department, which monitors cosmic radiation exposure, pulled her off line because her safe exposure levels are much lower, being pregnant.

Instructors at my company undergo recurrent training. We study concepts where education and aviation intersect and have a full day workshop to discuss them. And every year I feel like I’m not performing at the high conceptual levels we’re discussing and come down with a case of imposter syndrome.

#Avgeek I wish Canadian pilot training had a CRM component; structured training for working in a multi-crew environment. Initial training is geared to single pilot ops. Moving from company to company the quality of the CRM training varies wildly. There’s lot of “I wish I knew THAT before” moments

I don’t know what happened with the 767 in EWR. Here’s some context. Runway 29 is the shortest at the airport and is typically only used in windy conditions, where crosswinds on the other runways would be a bit “sporty”. Landing on 29 requires low level manoeuvring to line up for the approach.

Where I work the pilots are typically wedded to their seats. Two regular captains can’t fly together since captains are only allowed to fly from the left seat.
