It's a little funny (not their fault) when I visit my YT channel and see (wonderful) people wondering if I've vanished forever. That's still pretty amazing people still miss that (as do I), but also it's like... guys! I do have socials.

drawing loona has been fun! but now it's time to address and get back to the nitty gritty: fundamentals. In my very short return to art of about 2/3 years, I had no foundation - and always avoided the BOXES. No more, it's time to box.

Loona has been a great thing to keep me in the habit of drawing even if it's not all study - trying to capture a very stylized form presents numerous challenges and they're not all great for focused learning. What I do like is referencing a character with. . . reserved anatomy.

the hyperfixation returns

mentally had been in a horrendous place and had to work on some self care, and of course a hyperfixation on loona surfaced, so been doing very rough sketches the past week or so #loona #helluvaboss

one particular thing i've learned through art is that, references and referencing art you like is cool and fun, BUT, does not aid (or did not help me, personally) actual growth, because what you interpret and reference is based on the references and interprations of that artist.

butt. also, when art feels and nebulous, like "why can't I replicate x or y with heavy reference (which is fine)," you have to ask yourself (or myself) "exactly how much time have you really done focused studies/practice?" 3/3

more "dynamic poses," however, with art, I've learned I'm still really at square zero! i've been focused on daily hour long gesture drawings, trying to go crazy with energy and having no concern over the results
