Okay so this is not atmospheric chemistry related BUT I finished my first 100 mile trail run this weekend! Run Rabbit Run in Steamboat Springs. And like all long running endeavors I must talk about it on all social media. It was lovely except for the cold hail!! Many aspens changing color.

I recently analyzed LMIC participants by location and year and found out that conference location REALLY matters for this--40% LMIC participation in 2014 in Natal, 57% in 2024 in Kuala Lumpur, 15% in 2022 in Manchester (COVID still a big thing for that conference, though), ~3% for Colorado in 2016.

Younger people like to ask if I had a career plan and I feel bad saying nah I just vibed it. But it's the truth, I'm mostly doing ok, and maybe that's a relief to hear? I mean always build skills and figure out what you like in your current job and what you want more of next, but it's not rigid?

Yesterday I skied out of the Eiseman hut (yay Colorado ski huts) to the crazy funding freeze news. Not the best return to reality. And now the order is rescinded maybe? Confusing and disruptive . . .
