Covid vaccine boosted, 2nd day of availability here. The university hospital vaccine clinic was doing a brisk business delivering flu vaccines to university employees, but we may have been the only ones for covid. So we continue to mask.

Over many years, most of the contractors/subs I worked with were conscientious but there was the occasional incident of premeditated “better to ask forgiveness than permission”, and then it was painful lesson time. This after-the-fact submission shit should have serious consequences.

Rump planned a 70 floor tower in New Orleans year ago. A structural engineer who saw the plans told me they couldn’t design proper foundation (NOLA has soil like coffee grounds). Which might explain failure of the project. I hope soil borings were done for this White House ballroom. Safety first.

The cost of demolition and restoration to be paid for by those who contributed to the abomination. And include a plaque for that.

I’ve worked on projects reviewed by Historic Preservation and we could never jump ahead of review and approvals. But that was in the olden days when laws, regulations, and codes weren’t brazenly ignored.

When Mike Johnson or another national leader repeatedly claims they haven’t seen relevant things in the news, an appropriate reporter reaction would be “Holy cow, how do you not know?!? How can you do your job without knowing what’s happening? What are you doing to fix your ‘not knowing’ problem?”
