anyway fuck censorship. we should all get weirder and worse

I'm not participating in a blackout because the point is moderation and others want me and those like me gone, and I would much rather continue to occupy the space I helped build rather than give everyone a chance to feel how much "better" it is without me. why wither when you can be a thorn.

This platforms moderation is currently unable to tell the difference between artistic/non-sexual nudity and explicit pornography How do you expect them to be able to differentiate between consensual and non-consensual?

I will use my platform to say that trans women creators I love and or close to have faced such perverse transmisogyny and call-outs for the crime of being trans women especially mentally ill trans women it's love every trans woman before it's too late until that trans woman is a perfect target

I will also use my platform to say that the same happens to POC users, ESPECIALLY IF THEY'RE BLACK, BROWN, INDIGENOUS. in my experiences, people are less sympathetic towards me and actively are biased towards my suffering as a black artist. it's racism/antiblackness

I will use my platform to speak against censorship saying it harms queer creators and sex workers and using my platform to say that genocide will forever be evil and that brown people/Palestinians do not deserve to to be murdered and displaced.

actions that will contribute more to pushing against bluesky's censorship than a blackout: -submitting a feedback request -@ing moderation about it -commenting on mods posts about it -making and sharing memes (ex: "i consent!" sticker) -leaving an app store review -just generally posting about it

I do understand why ppl worry about the new guidelines but … ❌ Spamming UNTAGGED nsfw will NOT change anything nor does it prove a point – it does the opposite: It proves the point that ppl arent diligent in tagging NSFW so u can't trust them with labeling things by themselves to keep minors safe

Pls don't do the blackout thing guys pls actively yell at moderation. Bsky isn't losing money if you don't post, there are no advertisers to scare with no engagement.

it chafes me when platforms put forth these moderation guidelines that use the jargon of safety, inclusivity, and community before detailing all the kinds of art that ought be banned, shunned, persecuted. why is it that "community" always looks like absence, never curated abundance.

So like. How are drawings supposed to consent? If I draw some nakey ladies having a good time, do I have to include speech bubbles of them saying, "oh god, I'm gonna consent" lol

They have this button on the right hand column that in addition to public shaming, lets you shame them in other useful ways
