finished cage of souls... very weird and interesting book. have some mixed feelings about it, a lot of it could have been done better, but overall i enjoyed it a good deal and it's unique and thought provoking enough to be worth a read

I hate when a book is good, but not Great. If a book is not good, I simply drop it. If it's Great, I can't stop reading it, and I don't think about other books. If it's only good... then I don't want to drop it... but I also look at my WTR list and think about all the books that might be Great.

I need to DNF more books... Incandescence has been excellent since page 1. Why did I waste so much time dragging myself through revelation space (and other mid books I've read in the past) for a tiny payoff at the end when I could have spent that time reading something much better

finished revelation space on the plane, it was... alright. the astrophysics speculation was pretty cool, which is what i expected give the author's background, but everything else was weak. possibly the blandest character work i've ever seen in fiction, everyone was a cardboard cutout lol
