Eleven years ago, I wrote to Tom Stoppard to ask about this coup de théâtre from 1949. It took me down an unexpected rabbit hole - in memory of Stoppard, here's what I found.

Talking about Elliott, somewhat wondering what our depth at RW is if Chiesa (who’s obviously had a null season but is at least a similar player to Salah) leaves or is again not fit to play / disappointing when he does. Does Szoboslai work at RW? Is that actually *less* change than Elliott there?

Agree, that plus a lot of issues to resolve, I suppose: Age profile in attack, Jota decline, Nunez unsuited, Chiesa so far LB (should have addressed last year, got away with it in league but arguably cost us in CL) RB to replace Trent Konaté’s contract (? sell if can’t extend but think we will)
