Had a day in bed because my body suggested, no freaking demanded it. However, I did make it to a lovely little place called Cafe Popular. I knew the universe wanted me here when I opened the menu. Sometimes you do get a sign that these are your people.

Found a new drink that could be an evening go-to. Met a young sommelier who came up with it. There wasn’t a good name, so we’re going with Canadian Highlands. 1oz bourbon 1oz Lagavulin 1oz maple syrup 1oz lemon juice You can play with ratios on the bourbon/scotch for +\~ smoky aftertaste.

We had to say goodbye to little Ruxpin. 15+ years of being such a good boy, bringing joy and cuddles. His body was giving out, but his heart remained full of love. We will miss you old man. May you find fresh legs in the other side of the rainbow bridge.

Tried a new drink last night! Always a favourite pastime. It’s a bourbon based called the REVOLVER (if u use Bullet, the name makes more sense). 2oz bourbon, add 0.5 oz of Kahlua coffee liquor and a few drops of orange bitters. (Bonus is the flamed orange peel garnish.) This hits the bullseye!
