Reunion is awkward because it expands on a story that didn't need expanding. It was literally made for pricefield fans as a way to make up for writing them terribly in DE. A last "hurrah" before contracts expired or whatever. But it made the attempt to fix how it represented a queer relationship

Better to expand your vocabulary and learn how to actually articulate your critique rather than throw a buzzword around to sound relevant. Just calling it "fanservice" isn't enough. Of course a game/movie/whatever is going to try to appeal to a certain audience. It's *insincerity* that makes it suck

Fanfic is awesome because it doesn't need an editor or a publisher or a budget, doesn't need to follow 3 act structure, doesn't worry about if it'll "sell" or not. It's an independent author sharing their heartfelt writing for free, what isn't fucking awesome about that.
