Nice to see Bradley’s jazz club in Greenwich Village which sadly closed in 1996 having a cameo in Seinfeld that same year (S7 E11 “The Rye”, and extra credit for the 2.7 RS).

Paul Newman chose the Speedster for Harper (1966), and because he is a king, nine years later in the sequel The Drowning Pool (1975) he couldn’t resist a small Porsche shout-out.

RIP Andy Bey (1939-2025)

Andy Bey, jazz singer of emotional and musical range, has died at 85
From his seat at the piano, Andy Bey sang with a hushed interiority that could make a listener feel as if he were exchanging confidences. He died on April 26, at 85.

Watched Ice Station Zebra (1968) and it wasn’t great, though good old TCM afterwards played a short on the work of John M. Stephens who developed cameras and shots for the underwater sequences and was similarly instrumental in the camerawork for the very cool Grand Prix (1966).
