After a lifetime of being a fantastically bad cook I have suddenly become a very good cook and it's confusing the Hell out of me. Since I deeply admire good cooks, it's a pleasant confusion.

YIKES. Major editing problems with the audiobook. Really, 'chapter 5-7 are processed to be high and squeaky' bad! I've contacted my publisher. It's a shame, because the voice acting itself is FABULOUS. Beau Soleil has the voice of a goddess.

HA HA HA the audio reader has the perfect tone of Ruby trying to flirt and generally having a crush, while it flies COMPLETELY over Artifact’s head.

I am enjoying Silksong. A lot of the balance elements are really different from most platformers, and the switch from a vertical down attack to an angled down attack with very little 'bounce' is a radical change in how you can maneuver. Hornet feels floaty, agile, but finnicky. About right.

Oh, heckin yes. I spent a Hellish day driving a friend a couple of hundred miles on busy freeways in rain that made it hard to see, but I got home and THE AUDIOBOOK OF SKIP SCHOOL MAKE DRAGONS IS OUT. I really loved the audition and I can't wait to listen to it myself. Buy it to improve my day!

I must now leave on my all day road trip. An hour and a half after Silksong released, Steam will consistently let me reach the 'shopping cart' page but not the payment page. Team Cherry, good for you. Even if Silksong sucks (unlikely) for Hollow Knight you deserved a lifetime worth of money.

Half an hour in, Steam is still too overloaded for me to buy Silksong. I don't know why I find this hilarious instead of frustrating. Here is live footage of Steam.

By editing Dwarf Fortress raws to make plant names more interesting, I have somehow completely broken food stockpiles. I bet it's my attempts to add beet sugar and tequila.

I made mongolian beef and egg and vegetable fried rice for the first time today. The beef is delicious. The fried rice is fine, kind of bland. I learned from my mistakes and both will be better and faster next time. Which won't be soon because I made a mountain.

Also somebody PLEASE make a Dwarf Fortress mod that makes smoke not be an unpathable absolute obstacle that playable races cannot move or target through. I am really sick of fire wielding forgotten beasts being unkillable because they can't be attacked.

I do not know what strange quirk of Dwarf Fortress's physics causes this, but if you give a 'large knife' to @introdile.bsky.social's kobolds (who by stats are slightly inferior to dwarves) they turn into living blenders who sprint to be first to every fight.

War. War never changes. This field of gore is the result of sending 6 psychotic kobolds with knives against 78 goblins. I understand it's difficult to read a Dwarf Fortress screen. The trash cans are just my order to take the body parts to the dump. It will take a long time.

My publisher assures me that the six month late audiobook for Skip School, Make Dragons IS coming out. I had given up. Note that my publisher is in no way at fault for the delay. Due to the nature of the contract system they use, an audiobook reader can really drag things out.

This kobold has just arrived in my fortress. The first thing he did was pick up someone else's discarded leather underwear and put it on. He hasn't even gotten in the front door yet. For non-players, the star symbol means it's masterpiece quality, and the x means it's damaged from overuse.

Okay, proofreading done and manuscript sent to publisher. Now for the regular heart attack because, despite my belief that *I* am fantastic, I do not equate this with anyone else wanting what I do.

I have high hopes for the Silksong announcement in an hour and a half, mainly because the 7 years of silence have been because Team Cherry is violently allergic to making promises they're not absolutely sure they can keep. I have long expected that they'd finish then launch suddenly.
