I have a new blog post that tries to lay out just what is at stake with Trump's attempted fascist takeover of higher education. Check it out and share widely!

what does āmisbehaviourā sound like? in new open access work i ask this question in the context of school discipline policies, looking at how ideologies of āim/proper languageā and āim/proper behaviourā coalesce and get co-constructed with one another.

Ideas lose power, revolutions fade. I've felt this for a while, watching positional (Pep-style) football. Players who once wowed playing safe or touching the ball 4 times in a half. Patterns we've all seen before. There are other ways to play...as 24/25 shows.

I was listening to Sara Ahmed speak a few days ago and something that stuck with me and is living rent free in my head was this phrase āfreedom from the need to complainā. I canāt get over how this is such an apt description for structures of exclusion and how people move through spaces differently.

Football in 2024 is absolutely incredible. And underwhelming. Something is missing - I think it's variety. Is English football all starting to look the same? Managers and SDs have been in touch to say that know exactly what I'm talking about...

āoracyā is a hot topic in Englandās education system. in this article i critique the deficit thinking which lies at the core of how oracy was first theorised, how those ideologies continue today, and the flawed theory of social justice which often accompanies it.š
