My last LEGO build of the year is the astonishing 2,651-piece Pac-Man arcade game set. The light-up and moving parts are mind-boggling and were some of most complicated and time-consuming LEGO elements I’ve ever built.

Tonight’s American Cinematheque screening at the Aero Theatre was the gorgeous TRAIN DREAMS in 35mm followed by a Q&A with director Clint Bentley, actors Joel Edgerton, Felicity Jones, and William H. Macy, and cinematographer Adolpho Veloso.

Finally got to see Robert Altman’s NASHVILLE on the big screen at an Academy Museum screening that was preceded by a Q&A with Jeff Goldblum (NASHVILLE was only his third onscreen acting role) moderated by screenwriter Larry Karaszewski.

Director/co-writer Joachim Trier and co-writer Eskil Vogt (THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD) flew in from Norway today and immediately came to Century City to do a Q&A after tonight’s screening of their wonderful new film SENTIMENTAL VALUE.
