Social media is so random. I have so much respect for people who have built their followings over years of hard work and dedication because honestly, no one knows how anything is going to go 🤷

First time I'm saying this but I am writing a *thing*. Despite having written things before, it has been a while and so I find myself asking #writersky -how do you stay motivated to write every day? I know that's what it takes to get it done but help.

At my work, we really try to promote the 'community' events that we do -book club, feedback boards, wellbeing activities. It can be so hard to engage students (ages 18-21 mostly) though. Does anyone have any tips on doing that? #librarysky

I've been away, tuning out of the world recently but I feel the need to tell you that I am of course very worried about what's going on right now. When I heard the news on the radio, one of my first thoughts was 'they never talk about trans men, do they?'

We discovered a fantastic venture of the Cornwall chapter of @mindcharity.bsky.social while in Bodmin today -The Reading Room, a lovely, cosy cafe and used bookshop. All proceeds from books, coffee and sweet treats go to Mind. A lovely spot for us to wait out the rain 🥰☕📚 #booksky

Yesterday my parents called and said they had to have my beautiful, loving baby Dexter put to sleep. He collapsed a few nights ago and never left the vet surgery. At 13 years old, he had the best life but I'm left here wondering why they have to go and how life just has to go on? 💔

Finished Fundamentally. I felt the ending was a little rushed but I guess I was overall satisfied. At one point, I also thought it was going to take a sharp left and completely blow everything out of the water but then it just didn't 😄 but it's making my personal shortlist! #womensprize

Really enjoyed Tell Me Everything, as a conclusion (I assume?!) to the Amgash series. Felt like a big sigh and a weight being lifted ☺️

What an amazing tale. Think I'd have liked a bit more from the later chapters but I was thoroughly gripped throughout. A heartbreaking lesson that war and terror quite literally never stop and that humans continue to endure it time and time again 👀 #womensprize

Coming up to halfway through Somewhere Else by Jenni Daiches. It's such an epic, sprawling story. Not sure how she has managed to pack so much life and pain and social commentary into just over 300 pages without it seeming rushed or skimmed over -an incredible feat ☺️ #womensprize

Just finished watching Adolescence. It delivers its messages so subtly yet so clearly. Yes, it's about misogyny and toxic masculinity but it's also about letting kids do what they enjoy and not steering them down the paths you think they should follow.

😢 I'll confess I've not read any of his books but I know how vital and loved they were. The amount of love and condolences for him speaks volumes about the impact he and his work made in the YA community. RIP 💖
