Redesigned Diddy Kong's first playable appearance is in Fever!

A mediocre direction for alternate joy-con colors. You can only see the difference under the stick or if you're playing split joy-con, and the inner lining no longer matches your console.

I finished my Hard Mode playthrough of Prime 4 with every item, logbook scan, and even all the green crystals. I really enjoyed it again the second time around, the art design, soundtrack, boss battles, morph ball puzzles/platforming, and item cleanup remain highlights!

I've been playing a lot of Mario Kart World over the break and it is quietly a lot better than it was at launch. Just grouping up to play Knockout Tour with friends online has been a game changer!

What a generation for Samus

Happy Metroid Prime 4 day. I started a Hard Mode playthrough last night so I can re-experience the whole thing alongside all of you!

I'm preparing my Nintendo predictions for IGN's 2026 preview article, and I always like to look back at how I did the previous year. I did pretty well for 2025, now the pressure's on!

I care deeply about every review I write, but Prime 4 was on another level. Years of hype, huge highs and lows, it took a lot of time, rewrites, and nuance. Metroid is all I've been thinking about -- I had actual dreams behind Samus' visor. Real proud of this one, and grateful I got to tackle it.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond plays like a post-mortem of its own dev cycle. The story of a doomed race throwing one last Hail Mary to salvage its legacy after a series of failed experiments. Disjointed, full of abandoned ideas, but Retro finds a way through the debris. www.polygon.com/metroid-prim...

You can see Prime 4's baggage all over the place: the desert feels unfinished, Sylux is underdeveloped -- this is easily Retro's least cohesive game, but they still clearly have the stuff. Prime 5 as a Switch 2 exclusive with a cohesive vision from the start would no doubt be in great hands.

Calling all Zelda fans who miss the traditional Ocarina of Time style: Play Metroid Prime 4! Like Prime 2 and 3, it has more self-contained areas with key upgrades and great bosses. It's the closest thing in Nintendo's current lineup to the old style, and it does it very well.

You've been waiting eight, or even 18 years to hear this: Metroid Prime 4 is great. My review is up now, on @ign.com!

Reviewing a Sakurai game was a big career checklist item of mine. I never would have guessed a Kirby Air Ride sequel would be the one!

Kirby Air Riders is such an improvement from the original, it feels like jumping from Smash 64 straight to Ultimate with no sequels in between. It’s a great Sakurai game, packed with content, unlockables, customization, and tons of little details. My review is up now, on @ign.com!

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond looks, runs, and feels fantastic, sticking close to the Prime blueprint. But, my time with it was dragged down by an annoying sidekick bombarding Samus with unwanted hints, quippy jokes, and cries for help. Meet Myles MacKenzie in my preview, on @ign.com.

Switch 2 crosses 10 million units, Donkey Kong Bananza is at roughly 3.5 million. I hope DK has a big holiday season, more people need to play it!

I still can't believe Nintendo randomly dropped a major ACNH announcement and reveal randomly on a Thursday morning. Y'all, I'm so happy 😭

Cool animal crossing update! Guess we're not seeing a new entry until... 2028 at the earliest? Also, this will fly under the radar because it's cheap, but charging $5 for mouse controls, 4K support, and the ability to yell at villagers is one of the worst things Nintendo has charged for so far.
