I've always been held back as a creator by not knowing enough and being afraid to know too much. I wanted to learn from and be influenced by, but not copy. But now, the real, tangible fear of ignorance and/or depriving myself is bigger than the hypothetical. I want to know more.

One of my personal goals this year is to read more. I am not setting myself up by aiming for a specific number of works, but instead focusing on the writers I want to know better.

The thing about me is I don't experience much wonder myself so I can engage in a lot of things that do nothing for me directly, but that bring joy to people I care about. I can derive joy from them, and in being a witness to their joy and wonder.

I have tried watching sports I simply haven't found a sport I find entertaining at length 💀 I will go to a game I don't have to pay for but the person paying has to understand that I'm likely not having a good time and only there for the company and/or to disassociate 🤭
