I agree with the intellectual substance of virtually every common critique of AI. And it's very clear that turning those critiques into a competition about who can frame them in the most scathing way online has done *zero* to slow down adoption, even if much of that is due to default bundling.

On Saturday I went to The V&A East Storehouse after @simonwillison.net mentioned it on his blog. On the way home I was nosing through a copy of the FT and who should feature in an article on Vibe Coding? Simon Willison, obvs.

The positive thing about AI tooling going mainstream and setting expectations high (e.g. "anyone can build software with AI") is that a large group will learn what us devs know already: Creating good software is hard and it's hard to explain to outsiders in a way they understand

The thing most people look for in leadership are absolute rules that they can apply “do this, not that” style. The truth is, leadership is thinking in systems. Org health and productivity are related. Org change isn’t just moving TO something, it’s FROM-TO, and so on. Consider the whole system.

Just realised I'm much nicer to Claude Code than I am to Gemini Code because I like Anthropic more than I like Google as a company, which hardly seems fair to poor old Gemini.
