The “I wanna be best friends forever” shit is unnecessary at best & arguably predatory at worst. That section legit felt like it was purely done for shock value & nothing else. Man… One of these days, imma write my own hypothetical indie mascot horror title just to show y’all how it’s done… /hj

To me, the best route the team could have gotten would have been to make him act more like a guardian figure who forcefully tries to steer Amanda into complacency while also KNOWING & FEARING the harm she can do to him, like someone trying to “tame” a wild animal.

If anything, it leaves us with MORE questions than answers Which is NOT good for a story like this. It just makes you feel like they didn’t HAVE any legit plans for who Wooly was & why he acts the way he does. … oh & the big twist with Wooly feels incredibly forced & poorly planned out.

Wooly as a whole felt VERY inconsistent as a character, ESPECIALLY with how Amanda treats him as the series went on. I was hoping 3 would give a satisfying answer as to how odd Wooly’s character & his relationship with Amanda was But it just Never got touched on.

Anyway, TL;DR Wooly is a morally complicated and redeemable character who was done dirty by the story and the ending of Amanda 3 sucks because of that.

Scratch was a Hamelin employee with ulterior motives trying to infiltrate the show somehow. It would explain why he is introduced so suddenly in Amanda 2.

That’s what I loved about the first two games, the complicated morally grey characters felt refreshing against all the over the top evil or “child victim takes a new body” stuff that plagues the subgenre. I didn’t sign up for something that was just another “kids good and innocent, adults bad” story

he now seemingly non-canon game jam version. I hate how the intended reading of the narrative seems to be “Amanda is this uwu innocent child and Wooly is irredeemable”. Because I see both characters as morally grey.

The game treats the tapes being destroyed for good as what ultimately defeats all evil… and all this ignores the in the first game where Wooly risks his life to warn Riley and keep them safe! If Amanda didn’t constantly stop him, he probably would have told them to destroy the tapes too, as seen in

He seems to be an emotionally vulnerable guy who was taken advantage of, which is somehow a bad thing because he’s an adult even though all the other victims who are portrayed as innocent were emotionally vulnerable kids who were taken advantage of!

But the worst part of all was that my boy Wooly was done dirty. The game is clearly trying to argue that he is a bad guy just because he was doing what he was told at his job. Even though Marcus clearly showed reluctance on at least some of the worse things he was told to do.

I wish at the very least the true ending told us if Hamelin finally got the karma they deserved and the truth was exposed to the public. Even a newspaper headline would have done that job pretty decently.

And was it really that happy for Rebecca, given that Sam and all the other victims besides her are dead, she lost her innocence, and people are probably going to ask her a ton of questions the minute she’s seen in public again still looking like a child despite over 20 years having passed?
