I’ve no idea how I might afford it, but the first possible Unspun Heroes release of 2026 inches a little closer. Meeting being arranged for this week with the label. The finances will be worked out when I know what that might entail. This is the one of interest to John Martyn fans, btw.

Went to a record shop today. Bought a book about mythical folk horror tales from around the UK. Almost bought an OG copy of This Mortal Coil’s debut but it sadly had a scratch right across Side Two. Might have played okay, but with what looked like a rodent-chewed sleeve I decided it was a no.

Out at the cinema. Seeing ‘I Swear’. Although, as I have a kid with Tourette’s I sort of feel like I’ve seen it already.

Just became aware that Mt. St. Helens Vietnam Band had come out of an extended hiatus and released some new music. A band I learned of via MySpace. (No idea if Tom was a fan, he never wrote me after the initial friend request.) Anyway, their debut was ace. Kinda like a post-punkier Owls.

Found a whole bunch of Drink Ring Jesus test pressings I thought I’d lost. Turns out clearing up your space is worth doing! Also turned up some trial pressings of the ‘Unspun Flash’ version of Friendship Is Deep. I should probably archive things properly, I am well aware.

I’m listening to The New Eves while I move boxes around (always doing this) and putting away loads of recent record purchases to make space for the next lot that’s arriving in a week or so.

Halfway to getting a release sorted for 2026. Cash flow will dictate the schedule (buying a record, or 100 records, really helps), although the label hurdle needs to be gotten over first, even if the artist is up for it. The process begins, at least. News/disappointment as it happens 🤪
