The Music Library has one of the most beautiful views — a perfect backdrop for reading and thinking. 📚🎶

✨ Preparing a nomination package takes patience and care — polishing every detail until it shines. Fingers crossed it pays off, because our young scientists truly deserve the recognition. 🌟

Our departmental 10-week REU program wrapped up with all students giving 10-minute talks. Curtis and Brian presented their projects on global analysis and tensor networks—both did a great job. Seeing students grow so much in a short time is truly rewarding 👏👏👏

At the UCLA Faculty Center ☕🐻 — ordered my usual caramel latte, and the new staff put a little Bruin on top. Absolutely adorable. 😂

Spending the afternoon working with my daughter at the public library. How’s your Saturday going?

Just got back from a 6-week visit to the DESY theory group. Huge thanks to Markus Diehl and everyone for their warm hospitality. It was a wonderfully productive stay, made even better by Hamburg’s long summer days—plus the joy of meeting new friends and reconnecting with old ones 🙏🙏🙏

Having a wonderful time in Tübingen—just attended my first-ever workshop held inside a castle! Such a charming and lively town. Grateful to my host, Prof. Werner Vogelsang, for the warm hospitality 😁😁

Staying at DESY in Hamburg, Germany until early next month—a wonderful place with a calm, focused vibe. Sunrise around 5 am, sunset near 10 pm. Feels safe walking outside even at midnight (McDonald’s is still busy at 11 pm!). Such a different experience from the US 😅
