Great to reflect on two dynamic days at our quarterly Consortium Meeting with @transforming-homes.bsky.social , held at Cardiff University. Day 1 was all about hands-on collaboration and charrette simulation. Day 2 focused on progress, alignment, and next steps. Thanks to all who made it inspiring!

Researchers from CLCBE, WSA, Cardiff University, presented at the CIBSE IBPSA-England Technical Symposium 2025, including work from Transforming Homes. Dr Perisoglou discussed the UK Net Zero Standard; Dr Fernandez on dynamic grid carbon in retrofits.

Recently, @drcatbutler.bsky.social shared Transforming Homes insights at HAMMAR Southwest meeting #NHMF on engaging residents to transform 1920–40 council housing, from 1-to-1 resident conversations to collective events that bring residents together to discuss and learn from their lived experiences.

Researchers from @uniofbath.bsky.social, including Dr Rob Grover, met with Prof Sir Christopher Whitty, Chief Medical Officer for England and Chief Medical Adviser to UK Govt. Dr Grover shared Transforming Homes work and how co-design and biobased materials can boost #healthy, #sustainable #homes.

Our team visited the Margam Open House Retrofit, part of the #HousesasPowerStations (HAPS) funded by Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council. Two adjacent #homes showcase real whole house #retrofit of social #housing. Pre/post-retrofit monitoring supports data-driven decisions to improve wellbeing.

Our journey continues as #TransformingHomes colleagues hosted a third #community #codesign charrette in Manchester, exploring innovative bio-based materials, energy systems, spatial layouts and street infrastructure with residents, who came up with creative ideas for their #homes and neighbourhoods.

Our colleagues attended the National Housing Maintenance Forum (NHMF) Conference, focused on addressing key #housing challenges. They led a workshop on the #TransformingHomes project, sharing insights and initial findings. Engaging discussions followed on scaling up transformation and social equity.

Last Thursday, @transforming-homes.bsky.social delivered a #codesign charrette in Newcastle with residents of 1920s-1940s council-built #homes. This #interactive workshop helped our researchers obtain insights to help develop a catalogue of #design solutions to transform interwar housing in the UK.
