My MapDoc research project has been doing some cheeky little extra patient and public involvement co-design work in our communities, and I've been blown away by how much the issues in our research matter to people, and how committed they are to supporting solving them.

Super proud of my non-social-media-using PhD student who just passed his viva with minor corrections. And very much needed my post-viva sandwich, nervous pacing takes a lot of energetic resource.

On the early bus to uni listening to school students talk loudly and somewhat excitedly about the difference between ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Never lose your enthusiasm, kids. It's a lesson to us all.

I was second choice in a research associate role. The first choice turned it down. It set me on a totally different path, leading to us having offices next door to each other an being friends. I came via two further cities, we did not know each other before.

I had eighteen meetings in the first three days of this week. Each one on a different topic. Just sayin'
