My thoughts on Virginia’s redistricting amendment. it’s not about the maps, it’s about stopping unchecked power. Vote yes by April 21st.

I know people are concerned about Trump and impending election interference — I share them. Democracy and dignity are on the line in this election, and so is ability to hold elections in the first place. We need to be ready. Not just as a party, but as a people.

There’s nothing in this speech that ppl in the 1st district don’t already know. Wittman, Trump, and MAGA politicians aren’t interested in solutions for everyday people. They’re only interested in engaging in the politics of division and scapegoating. All the while ignoring us. That ends in 2026.

I call myself a Reformist Democrat. That means no corporate cash, no party-over-people politics, and no pretending the system works for people when it doesn’t. We all pay into this system. We all contribute. We all deserve real representation. Reform is how we get something better.

The damage Data Centers inflict on our neighborhoods and our electric bills is a reflection of how Government allows Big Tech and Big Industry to mistreat everyday people. And we’re told we’re not rich enough to stop them — that’s a lie. That was my message at Data Center Lobby Day this week.

Statement on the new maps, which I support. Let’s be clear, there’s no guarantee the amendment will pass, the GOP will spends millions fighting our effort to balance the scales. I’m running to restore representation to the ppl of the 1st. If that hurts my chances at winning a primary so be it.

A VCU student asked me what happens when party pressure and lobbyists show up. It’s a fair question. Here’s my answer: Ideals are compromised only if you’re afraid to use power when you have it. I’m not.

ICE has been used a tool for cruelty and violence against innocent people. If one entity can do so much harm in such a short amount of time, it needs to go.

No amount of gaslighting from the Trump crowd can hide what we’re seeing — ICE agents killing innocent people. This isn’t “law and order,” it’s unleashed, unchecked brutality of this administration. ICE has to end this reign of terror. Enough bloodshed. Accountability now.

When an agency reaches this level of cruelty, there must be consequences. And let’s be clear about this: Harming innocent children doesn’t lower healthcare prices. It doesn’t lower everyday costs. And it doesn’t make us safer. It’s just cruel. I won’t stand for it.

The brutality executed by ICE on a daily basis — both in our neighborhoods & on people of color — is unacceptable. I’m mad that this violence is so well funded, when that money should go to investing in people, not hatred. Immigrants are part of this country. Systems built on cruelty are not.

Yesterday, I spoke at the Stop The Data Center Takeover Rally for my Job at the Virginia Sierra Club — the only way to stop Big Tech from destroying our neighborhoods is through local community resistance. As a Congressman, I will end Big Tech’s exploitation of Va and everywhere else.

But… that’s literally thier job

The Supreme Court supercharged Big Money in elections with Citizens United — it’s time to balance the scales. My public voucher plan levels the playing field by giving voters $500 every quarter to donate to candidates of their choice. It gives our tax money back to us, and strengthens are democracy

When people are hurting, it’s easy to win elections by selling hate.

This is severely unacceptable. People died when they didn’t have to — all because we fail to uphold our duty to respect the dignity of certain groups. Make no mistake. Horrific outcomes like this is a choice. And I choose to fight for a better future for all of us.

Could not agree more with this take. People lose trust in Government because politicians get to play by rules that are inherently untrustworthy — it’s also how you get growing inequality and authoritarianism. If only we had a candidate running on reform as the pathway policy solutions 🤔 🙋‍♂️

Republicans like Wittman love to pretend they love our country, but there’s nothing patriotic about tax breaks for billionaires while families can’t afford basic care. Real patriotism is believing America can do better — that we can take care of every person in this country with dignity & fairness.

Someone asked me today why I’m running for Congress instead of a local office. My answer’s twofold: The economy is built for the haves at the expense of the have-nots — but grassroots candidates can build one that works for all of us. And honestly? I’m tired of looking up and being disappointed.

An election is more than a contest — it’s a declaration of equality. Your vote counts just as much as anyone else’s. That’s real power. It’s also why some will do anything to silence it. So why vote? Because there’s beauty in a ballot. Cast one if you can.

MAGA's bullsh*t about SNAP being a "wasteful" program needs to be called out for the gaslighting it is. Most SNAP recipients are kids, seniors, and ppl with disabilities —groups we have a moral obligation to care for. If you think feeding families is a waste, you shouldn't be in public service.

When people in power fail to listen to their constituents, it's up to us to hold them accountable. Wittman has forgotten how to listen, and he’s not the only one. We need to reform the rules, so we can restore representation for the rest of us — that's how we revitalize the American Dream.

In the richest nation on Earth, no one should go hungry. No one should go broke from getting medicine. We can afford SNAP. We can afford healthcare. But Trump and Wittman would rather shut down the government to protect billionaire tax breaks. It’s cruel. It’s cowardly. And it pisses me off.

We can’t build our way out of a crisis while Wall Street hoards what we’ve already built. Housing must be preserved for people — not corporate profit. It’s time to reform our economy so every Virginian can afford home. No exceptions.

Everytime I speak to young people, they always ask how to hold on to hope in era of climate change and deep division. I'm running because solutions DO exist, and I'm rejecting special interests because they deter the political will to act.

Let’s be clear: this shutdown isn’t about fiscal responsibility or “waste, fraud, and abuse.” It’s about priorities. And once again, Republicans are showing us theirs — they’d rather shut down the government than stop healthcare costs from exploding.
