I did some digging into my grandmothers family bc that’s my light skinned side and she doesn’t know much about her family. I was able to trace her lineage back to Mason-Dixon thru state records

My grandmother rebelled and got pregnant with my mom her senior year and still graduated top of her class after they ended segregation. She had my mom and got tf outta there lol

My grandmother grew up outside of Baltimore with a more conservative family… by the time she got to high school they integrated and she hated it.

It sucks but it is really up to us millennials now to learn what we can from our grandparents we have left. I’m glad my grandparents taught me and cousins young what they went thru during civil rights
