I'm just enjoying my first full day as the proud owner of a heat pump after my gas boiler packed up, a week before Christmas. 😳❄️ I used @heat-geek.bsky.social, who arranged everything. The cost was similar to a new gas boiler! @evanhd.bsky.social Happy Heat Pump podcast was also very useful.

Interesting write up of the prototype @heat-geek.bsky.social NanoStore - a combined heat exchanger and 60l hot water store. It’s still early days, but when this finally works, it will offer a route for space critical heat pump installations, with the heat pump ~ working like a combi boiler.

To make the switch to clean energy easier, we should aim for lower electricity prices, not higher ones. Lower electricity prices would encourage more people to use heat pumps 💚

Although it currently is a job, I wouldn’t class ‘heat pump system designer’ as a job @dominiclavelle.bsky.social. Heating system design is something all heating engineers should know and will be forced to lear or get digital tools to do.. a separate ’system designer’ will be quickly phased out.

Buying a boiler no longer makes any logical sense - You can now get a heat pump for less upfront cost than a boiler - cover finance cost with fuel bill savings - GUARANTEE a minimum efficiency. Oh + studies show house value increases 1.7-3% too. (5-9k on a £300k home) shorturl.at/Fv9ay
