Duonychus tsogtbaatari, a therizinosaurid from the Late Cretaceous of Bayanshiree Formation (Mongolia). It's known by partial postcranial skeleton including dorsal vertebrae and both forelimbs. Duonychus has only two manual digits, with big and curved claws. #paleoart #dinosaur

Today I downloaded Gimp and did some work in it. It was a lot of fun using the different tools! The result was this portrait of a random megaraptoran. Megaraptora is a clade of possible coelurosaurs (or even tyrannosauroideans) with forelimbs adapted for capture of prey. #paleoart

Today’s random piece of nostalgic palaeoart: Maurice Wilson’s Megalosaurus! For a painting done all the way back in 1972, this is shockingly modern! It’s a generic theropod without any distinguishing anatomy of any sort, but that’s basically what Megalosaurus was until quite recently. (1/3)
