We're looking for help with the excavation of bone beds at the St. George Dinosaur Discovery Site in SW Utah. We need heavy excavation equipment to move a large fossil-rich rock pile and in place rock above the bone beds. The City will break ground for an electrical substation in early April.

This is Milleropsis pricei, a lizard-like stem reptile that lived during the Permian of Africa. A new paper published yesterday by @semifossorial.bsky.social and colleagues described the cranial osteology and neuroanatomy of this species. I did the illustration #paleoart #sciart #paleontology

For this #FossilFriday we have the varanopid Varanodon agilis from the early? Permian of #Oklahoma. Now it’s safely at the Field Museum as FMNH UR 986. I always find this skull very unsettling… Probably the teeth going posterior to the orbit 🦷 👀
