I think Yoshida becoming a hybrid is very in character for him too. He’s afraid of death, he’s chained by PS and the plans of higher ups, he seems like he’s Judas in this story and he does want to save the world. It also puts entire arcs he’s involved in into more context.

Saw someone on the other site say that people just don’t want Asa and Denji to be happy and I feel compelled to reiterate that “I do not want a positive outcome” and “what we are seeing is not a positive outcome” are two very different statements

It's almost like Yoru offering Asa's body for sex and Katana offering to take Denji to a yakuza owned brothel for sex are BOTH bad and hinge on the abuse of women for men's pleasure! But it's dressed up like "consent" so Denji doesn't realize he would be perpetuating abuse! Still abuse tho!!

I think my frustration with this chapter has to be that this is yet again rehashing information. I feel like fujimoto is worried that a certain demographic of his audience isn’t listening and it’s taking time away from more enriching character interactions

I just do not like how Fujimoto has made it so we’re supposed to find Denji’s feelings the most interesting part of not just the story, but any given situation. Like im really sorry but yeah, I’m more interested in Yoshida has going on after all that.

Ok I can now confidently say I think the Octopus Devil is Yoshida’s adoptive mom and the reason he acts “odd” is because despite being very clearly human, he was raised by a devil.
