Apparently it's National Poetry Day in the UK, so here's a poem in progress. For context, this weaves in some phrases & words from the poems my grandpa wrote for his grandkids' births, and the title "Garden" is a play on his poem "Seed", which was written for his own children. Poem on, friends.

In an autumn of personal sorrow, this poem is burrowing deeper into my heart than usual, which is saying something

In the last couple months, I've bought the collected poems of Czesław Miłosz, two by Denise Levertov, and one by Adrienne Rich, and I am seriously thinking about taking a break from social media until I finish them all

I'm not a programming guy but MSNBC and CNN should be airing this Cory Booker thing in the same way you take over programming if there's a no-hitter or a basketball player with 60 points in three quarters. It's a physical feat! Cut in for this kind of thing. Costs nothing, gooses ratings, good TV.

Apropos of nothing, one of the reasons I'm happy to proclaim that trans rights are human rights is because as a rule, it seems like trans people want to be happy for you and want your life to go great, but (far too many) cis people need to make sure you're on the right team first
