How on earth did the time go so fast?!

All moved in to a lovely new home @sheffdio.org and started August with a beautiful early morning walk exploring the local woods and public footpaths - even in the drizzle! Looking forward to making this part of my routine in the coming months.

All are very welcome! If you can come and pray with me on the day you would be very welcome (see below!) and if you can't please do be praying for me and for the Diocese of Sheffield as I begin ministry as a bishop on Sept 16th.

Today started with the joy of praying MP with a colleague (and Dibley- pictured!). It’s a blessing to work in a context with colleagues.

Seem to have become an early riser in the last 6 months… not least as the small holding behind the house is an early morning delight - currently morning escapades are sheep and lambs escaping their designated field!

At the Priory this morning I walked up the central aisle toward this Pulpit Fall (made by the Sanctuary Guild) of the Risen Jesus with his wounds saying ‘Peace be with you’ and it felt fitting to pray for Pope Leo and my RC siblings in Lancaster.

Today, we remember and honour those men and women who died in active service during the Second World War, bringing Victory in Europe. 🙏 Join us in prayer as we reflect on their courage and cherish their memory. ✨

Reflecting on notes and journal entries from @onfiremission.bsky.social and struck by ‘We may be the only Gospel that people ‘read’’ - thankful for the challenge to see every day as a pilgrimage and the reminder that the way we travel is vital not just individually but communally.

The gift of Yvonne Bell being at @onfiremission.bsky.social is that I have stocked up on postcards for those ordinands being deaconed whose retreat I am leading next month.
