The new regimes at WaPo, CBS, and the like do not recognize that their predecessors were also doing a bunch of ideological laundering, but that that was built through a series of bargains and finesses, that they are now fucking up. Same for Trump with soft power, oligarchs with labor, etc. etc. etc.
