Mets news: Carlos Mendoza has talked with David Stearns in recent days, but there was no discussion about his job status. Their conversations were “business as usual.” Kodai Senga was placed on the IL with lower lumbar inflammation, and Juan Soto is DH’ing bc of forearm tightness.

Carlos Mendoza said he talked to Mark Vientos about blowing past the stop sign at third and running on his “instincts.” It was addressed and Vientos now understands he does not have the green light to ignore the signs on the basepaths.
