Teachers & students must always remain free to inquire, to study and to evaluate, to gain new maturity & understanding; otherwise, our civilization will stagnate and die. Universities must protect students faculty and staff from discrimination & harassment, while protecting campus free expression.

Intellectualism has served the US well, putting us far ahead of other nations in our tally of science-related Nobel Prizes, many won by immigrants who came here because of a welcoming climate & prodigious resources for scientists. We degrade that climate and deplete those resources at our peril.
