Seeking a post-doc for the LaJoie lab at the Human Technopole, Milan, Italy! We are looking for candidates from the fields of biochemistry, cell biology, and proteomics, who are interested in studying protein interactions of the nucleus 🤓

I am extremely excited that my first first-author paper from my PhD is finally out 😆!! We developed a new CLEM workflow to measure lipid densities at the nanoscale. So if you are into lipids and super-resolution imaging approaches, this one is for you:

My first manuscript in MPI colours! With
@tothpetroczylab.bsky.social
, we show that AlphaFold PAE-derived contact probabilities are well calibrated to the fraction of true interface contacts across experimentally determined protein dimers.

Out today in
@nature.com
: Together with the Honigmann, Shevchenko, Drobot and Hof labs, we present a general workflow for imaging the localization and transport of individual lipids in cells and mapping their metabolism.

Are lipids actively sorted during clathrin mediated endocytosis like proteins?
@mathilda95.bsky.social
addresses this key open question together with our collaborators from the Honigmann and Modes labs using a new Lipid-STED workflow.

It’s incredibly hard to study lipids in biological membranes on the nanoscale. You need near-perfect information on both membrane ultrastructure and lipid density, which usually isn’t attainable. Lipid-CLEM brought to you by
@mathilda95.bsky.social
changes that.
