On Friday 13. Sept., Dr. Lixin Zhai, Secretary General of the Chinese Academy of Science, along with a delegation visited us. Together with Prof. Yafang Cheng @MaxPlanckChem we discussed the synergy between fundamental research and technological development, and other topics.

A group of pupils from Rabanus-Maurus-Gymnasium Mainz spent 3 days at MPIP during their project week. There were numerous workshops on recycling and bioplastics. At the end, the chemical reactions in baking were scrutinised. A look into the laboratories is always a highlight.
